Following consultation with all those involved, the Schoolboys Football Association of Ireland can confirm the SFAI New Balance Kennedy Cup 2019 will take place in University of Limerick from Tuesday June 11th to Saturday June 15th.
The move in dates comes following confirmation that the Republic of Ireland senior men’s national team will take on Gibraltar on June 10th in the Aviva Stadium.
The format of the SFAI New Balance Kennedy Cup will remain the same, and the move offers a unique opportunity for the finals to be played on a Saturday rather than on a weekday.
In total, 640 players will make their way to UL for the five day competition, with a total of 255 schoolboy clubs represented at the 2018 tournament.
Work on the organising of the SFAI New Balance Kennedy Cup 2019 is already well underway, and this year’s competition promises to be another hugely enjoyable and memorable event.
As already communicated, the draw for the SFAI New Balance Kennedy Cup 2019 will take place following the SFAI Council meeting in Ennis, Co.Clare on March 2nd.
