An intriguing U13 SFAI Subway Championship Final awaits after Cork booked their place in the showpiece event when they overcame Sligo/Leitrim on Saturday in Ballea Park.

The 4-0 victory means Cork will reignite their rivalry with the DDSL, with the two sides battling it out in last year’s U12 final.

That day it was the Dubliners who emerged from Cahir Park as the winners, but Cork will be looking to reverse that result when they face off later this month.

On Saturday both Eanna Fitzgerald and Mark O’Mahony bagged doubles as the home team established their dominance from early on.

Fitzgerald’s first was a class goal by the Ringmahon Rangers youngster, and that was quickly followed by O’Mahony’s opener. The Carrigaline United player threatened throughout, and is sure to have a real impact in the final.

Both added further goals in the second half, and attentions now quickly turn the big one against the DDSL, with Shane Fox’s team beating Mayo last week in their semi-final.
