The West Cork Schoolboys League celebrated a historic win on Sunday when they clinched the U13 Munster SFAI Subway Plate.

Travelling to Clare for the final, the Lee’s Road venue offered up the perfect location for the showpiece game, and West Cork grabbed the opportunity with both hands to claim their first silverware at this grade.

Ben O’Sullivan, who hit the back of the net in the Munster semi-final, was on target again on Sunday, opening the scoring after 19 minutes in Ennis.

Drinagh FC’s Tom McQueen then added a second from the penalty spot after the restart, while Ben O’Sullivan doubled his tally when he registered his second and the visitor’s third in the final stages of the tie.

The victory now sees West Cork set up a home national semi-final, where they will play the winners of Donegal and Cavan/Monaghan which takes place next weekend.
