The Drogheda U12 ETP squad made history on Saturday when they joined their U13 outfit in the first finals of the Leinster SFAI Subway Plate.

The U13’s await the winners of the Midlands or Wexford in the Leinster Final, and on Saturday the U12’s overcame Carlow 4-1.

Drogheda ETP U12s v Carlow 14042018

A huge crowd gathered in the Drogheda Institute of Further Education for the feast of football, and Lorcan Buckley was one of a number of players who stood out for the homeside.

He bagged a brace, while Adam Gillespie also hit the back of the net, and the superb Eamonn Armstrong finished the scoring.

Drogheda’s road to the final has been a mixed one, but after an opening day defeat in their first group game they beat the Midlands.

Further wins against Kilkenny and then on Saturday against Carlow mean it will be a day to remember when they line out in the final.
