All eyes were on the SFAI Subway Plate competition in Munster last weekend, with a whole host of games taking place across the province.

For South Tipperary, there was double delight as both their U12 and U13 sides progressed to the semi-finals on a day to remember in Cahir Park.

Up against Kerry, the South Tipp U12’s ran out 3-1 winners, with three separate goalscorers hitting the back of the net.

Shane Ryan, Finn Jones and Tom Ryan were all on target, and the victory now sees them set up an intriguing tie with Cork.

Meanwhile, the South Tipperary U13’s took on their neighbours North Tipperary, and it was the visitors who had the better of the opening exchanges.

Indeed, they went in at the break 1-0 ahead, but the South Tipp team came out in the second half revived after some instruction from their management team.

Both Daniel O’Dwyer and Adam Hennessy rippled the net, while Senan Butler bagged himself a brace to complete the 4-1 comeback and see South Tipperary into the semi-finals.
