Cork side Douglas Hall will be playing in the semi-finals of the U12 SFAI Skechers National Cup after they clinched victory in their quarter-final on Saturday.

Up against a strong St Joseph’s Boys team, the youngsters from Cork showed why they are so highly rated, putting on a superb display when they travelled to Dublin.

Pearse Park was the venue, and Ronan O’Shea has them ahead in the first half when he converted following a sweeping attack with 26 minutes played.

Into the second half and St Joseph’s Boys hit back when some intelligent play eventually unlocked the Hall defence.

The game ebbed and flowed for a period after that before Dara McCormick hit the all-important winners 23 minutes into the second half.

Lots of pressure followed from the homeside, but Douglas Hall held firm and they now look forward to a semi-final away trip to St Kevin’s Boys.
