The Wexford and Midlands U12’s played out an entertaining draw in Kilmuckridge on Sunday when the sides met in the SFAI Subway Championship.

Fresh from a superb performance for Forth Celtic in the national cup last week, Daniel McGrath bagged the opener for Wexford, with the young sharp-shooter showing he has a real talent on front of the target.

He had plenty of help in attack too, and Shayne McDonald added a second to cement Wexford’s dominance.

However, the Midlands never wilted from their task, and they pulled a goal back just before half-time to set up an intriguing second half.

They then levelled proceedings after the restart, and although chances were created by the two teams as the half unfolded, a mix of good defending and strong goalkeeping meant the tie ended 2-2.

Elsewhere, the Midlands faced the SDFL in the U12 Group Three, and it was another exciting tie, with the game ending 3-3.
