The Midlands’ U15 side will contest the Leinster SFAI Subway Plate Final after they overcame NECSL in Mullingar on Sunday.

Ronan Bergin bagged himself a very impressive hat-trick, while Ross Meridith added a brace, and the Midlands will now face the winner of the second semi-final between NDSL and Wexford.

Peter Pierson was very influential for the winners throughout the afternoon, while Kai Harte, playing in the centre of the Midlands defence, was another who stood out.

Both Cian Forde and Pierson combined for the third goal, eventually feeding the ball to Bergin who completed his hat-trick.

Pierson continued to impose himself on the tie, and when he was taken down in the penalty area, Meridith converted to make it 4-0.

He then added a fifth to cement the victory, while NECSL hit a late consolation goal.
