It may have taken extra-time, but Thomastown United U12 side eventually booked their place in the last 16 of the SFAI Skechers National Cup on Sunday when they beat Bridge United 3-1 AET.

The game, which was a tight and highly competitive one, ended 0-0 after normal time, but in extra-time the goals began to flow.

Colm Treacy bagged a brace for the eventual winners, while Eanna O’Keeffe also registered a goal.

Bridge United did hit back to make it 1-1 in extra-time, but the visitors pushed on to prevail.

Thankfully the result did not dampen spirits too much, and all those connected to Thomastown United thanked Bridge United for their hospitality before, during and after the tie.

Next up for Thomastown United is a last 16 tie against Rosenallis who beat Corduff on penalties after the game finished 3-3.
