Goals from Bryan McMahon and Adam McCarron sealed victory for Hanover Harps’ U15 side on Saturday when they beat Salthill Devon in the SFAI Skechers National Cup.

Travelling to Galway for the tie, which was played in blustery conditions, Hanover sought to open the scoring from the off.

The first goal came when Eoghan Byrne’s cross was parried by Andrew Sherlock into the path of McMahon who volleyed the ball home for Hanover.

The visitors had another chance to score shortly after that but Sherlock saved, and Devon then equalised to leave it 1-1 at the break.

In the second half, Harps continued to create openings, but they had to wait until six minutes from time for McCarron to bag the winner.

His strike to the top corner means Hanover will now face Villa from Waterford in the last 16 of the SFAI Skechers National Cup.
