St Brendan’s Park booked their place in the last 16 of the U14 SFAI Skechers National Cup on Saturday when they saw off Villa FC in Waterford.

Running out 2-0 winners, the reigning Munster champions will now face the winners of Kellsblackwater and Macroom.

They also have a regional semi-final to look forward to against Galbally.

On Saturday the all-important opening goal came after 10 minutes when Josh Connolly struck for the visitors.

Messiah Chirwa then added a second with 50 minutes on the clock, and although Villa pushed to engineer a comeback, St Brendan’s had enough to see out the game and progress.
