Cork booked their place in the Munster U16 SFAI Championship regional final on Sunday when they overcame South Tipperary in Carrigaline.

The strong Cork side came into the tie having won all three of their group games, while South Tipp made it to the semi-finals having finished second in their group.

With a place in the final up for grabs, Cork wasted no time in asserting their dominance, and St Mary’s duo, Pierce Cummins and Conor Docherty, both scored for the homeside.

The visitors stayed in the game with some battling performances from those in central midfield, but Cork’s intensity led to them adding to their tally.

The College Corinthians trio of Eoin Redmond, Rob Geaney and Destiny Okonkwo all hit the back of the net to send the free-scoring side into the regional final.

The final is scheduled to take place in January, and the winners of that tie will then represent Munster on the national stage in February.
