It was the perfect start to life at inter-league level for the Mayo U12’s on Sunday as they ran out comfortable winners against Longford in the SFAI Subway Championship.

Conor Nolan was on the double for the visitors, with his brace coming in a first half packed full of intelligent play and efforts on goal from both teams.

The competitiveness of the tie meant Mayo had to maintain their high level throughout, and they had a third goal before the break thanks to Aideen Sottopara.

In the second half, with Longford pushing to open their account, Mayo used the extra space to their advantage.

Thomas Morely got in on the goal scoring act to make it 4-0, and the final goal of the day went to Conor Gorman.

Next up for Mayo is a clash against Roscommon in January.
