There was double delight for Maree/Oranmore FC at the weekend as both their U12 and U14 sides booked their places in the last 32 of the SFAI Skechers National Cup.

Both teams had to battle their way through extra-time to reach the next round, but in the end, they found a way, and will now look forward to games in January.

The U12’s faced a very good Castlebar Celtic side, and the goals in normal time came courtesy of Eanna Costello and Daniel Keddy.

It was then left to Colm Whelan to convert in additional time to send his team through to a last 32 clash with Illistrin United.

Meanwhile, the Maree/Oranmore FC U14 side overcame Ballymote Celtic, winning 3-1 after extra-time.

Myles Loughran registered a goal, while Gavin Smith netted a brace, and the win sees them set up a clash with Kilcullen in the next round.

Both team have also earned a place in their regional semi-finals, with dates for those fixtures to be confirmed.
