While the draw for the last 32 of the SFAI Skechers National Cup was taking place on Saturday, Rathkeale’s U12 team were busy overcoming St Brendan’s Park in Tralee.

The 2-0 win now sets up a last 32 tie with Forth Celtic, while the winners of that game will face the winners of the game between Bridge United and St Kevin’s Boys A.

Rathkeale U12s SFAI Cup 09122017

Rathkeale’s U12 side have been enjoying their time in the SFAI Skcehers National Cup this season, with plenty of goals in their games to date.

Players including TJ Lawlor, Jack Geoghan, Aidan O’Shea and Fintan McNamara have all had their shooting boots on, and the latter maintained that hot streak on Saturday when he put one past St Brendan’s Park.

It has already been a season to remember for McNamara who has notched up a huge goals tally, including some impressive hat-tricks along the way.

Scott Stapleton also hit the back of the net on Saturday, and superb performances from others including Casey Costello and her brother Cian, and goalkeeper Paddy Mulcaire ensured the victory was in no doubt.

The win also sees Rathkeale into the regional semi-finals where they will face the winners of play-of between Nenagh and Caherdavin Celtic.
