Eoin Duff was the star of the show on Sunday for the Clare CSL U16 side – netting four goals in their 5-1 win over West Cork in Skibbereen on Sunday.

It only took the Shannon Town striker a couple of minutes to get off the mark with his opening goal, and a second quickly followed on an afternoon perfect for football.

Having drawn their opening game, West Cork really needed a win if they were to progress to the regional Championship semi-finals, but Clare, and Duff, had other ideas.

Duff completed his hat-trick before the half hour mark, and although West Cork enjoyed more of the ball before the break, a goal never came.

In the second half it was more of the same from Duff who was in thrilling form on the day, and a fourth goal, this time scored by Newmarket Celtic’s Daniel Katsulyak, cemented the Clare side’s win.

Jay O’Neill did hit back for West Cork from the penalty spot midway through the second period, but that consolation was quickly forgotten when Duff completed a superb day with a fourth goal and a fifth for Clare.
