Sligo-Leitrim’s U15 side took their place in the SFAI Subway Championship semi-finals when they completed a 2-0 aggregate win over Cavan-Monaghan recently.

Having won the opening tie 1-0, the trip to Sherlock Park began with both teams battling for the upper-hand, and a superb effort from Luke McSharry almost had the home side ahead.

Darragh O’Shea in the home goal was the busier of the two goalkeepers, and he showed well under some high balls, while Alex Prior and Dean Carroll were among those who contested for Cavan-Monaghan in the centre of the park.

The only goal of the game was scored by Michael Lavin when he slotted home from close-range after good work from Kenny Ogun and Josh Mulrennan.

Elsewhere, Limerick District (below) registered their second win in the SFAI Subway Championship U15 Munster section with a 2-0 win over local rivals Limerick Desmond recently.

Conor Keane was the hero for the visitors, netting both goals, while others including Josh Shinners showed well for winners on the day.

The first half of the tie was relatively even, and both teams struck the crossbar with decent efforts, but it was Keane who was ultimately the difference on the day, taking both his goals very well.
